I’ve been listening to the “On Being” podcast with Krista Tippett. This gorgeous, thoughtful exploration of what it means to be human and how we want to live. Recently, Krista launched a series on Hope, drawing wisdom from powerful voices like Adrienne Maree Brown, Joy Harjo, Ocean Vuong, Joanna Macy, Naomi Shihab Nye, and Ross Gay. They speak of Hope not as a soft escape but as a daily practice, something radical, resilient, and fiercely alive. That theme of Hope echoed for me as I prepared for one of our SoulKu team meetings. Every two weeks, I send out a question ahead of our gathering. Not about work, but about us. Our inner lives. Our hearts. Our humanity. This time, I asked: “What are you hopeful for?” And these extraordinary women, this group of strong, wise, powerful Goddesses, showed up. They spoke of the strength of love and motherhood. Of a new generation rising with clarity and courage. Of grief softening, becoming something they could finally feel and move through. Of trusting that even when things don’t go as planned, they still unfold for the highest good. They spoke of dismantling injustice. Of leaning into the wisdom of women. Of nurturing a future where everyone is heard, held, and honored. It was sacred. It was electric. And it was deeply hopeful. This is my cherished moment for this month: A room full of women, choosing Hope. In a time when the world feels flooded with fear and frustration, we sat together and spoke the opposite into being. Hope wasn’t something we longed for. It was something we activated in each other. We amplified it. We made it real. And I was reminded, again, how sacred it is to sit in truth with people you love. To witness each other beyond the roles and the routines. To create space not just to work together, but to be together. What an honor. What a privilege. What a hope-filled way to live. Have you had a moment like that recently? One where you were surprised by the strength of someone’s hope or your own? I’d love to hear about it. Here’s to choosing Hope. To speaking it. To spreading it. To letting it live in us. Loudly, quietly, and everywhere in between.
